Bangladesh Film Festival and photo exhibition on Bangladesh Liberation War inaugurated today

Kolkata, Jan 5 (IBNS): A two-day long festival to showcase films from Bangladesh was inaugurated at Nandan – 2 theatre in Kolkata today, in presence of Hasanul Haque Inu, Minister of Information, Government of Bangladesh and Bangladesh High Commissioner to India Shri Syed Moazzem Ali.

The films will be showcased from 6-8thJanuary. Side-by-side a photo exhibition on Bangladesh Liberation war is also being held at Nandan-Gallery 4 and Najrul Tirtha – Art Gallery in the city till Jan 8.

The Minister from Bangladesh spoke about encouraging and taking initiatives to promote joint production of films by India and Bangladesh.

The dignitaries present on the occasion included Shri Sovandeb Chatterjee, Minister of Power and Non-Conventional Energy, Government of West Bengal, Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner in Kolkata,  Md. Mainul Kabir, veteran theatre personality Bibhash Chakraborty, noted actors from West Bengal as well as Bangladesh like Prasenjit Chatterjee, Koel Mullick, Gargi Roy Chowdhury among others.
