BITSAT 2018 Slot Booking: Check All the Important Details
The procedure for BITSAT 2018 slot booking is one requisite and important step in the completion of BITSAT application process. This step of slot booking is followed by payment of fee and needs to be completed on time, in order to write this exam. Therefore, through this article, we would guide you through application process and slot booking of BITSAT 2018.
BITSAT is conducted in the computer mode and the entire exam gets completed over a period of two weeks. This is mainly because the exam is conducted on multiple days, and in two slots per each exam day.
Tentatively, Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT) will take place during the 3rd week of May 2018. The actual exam date is yet to be officially announced by BITS Pilani. It is mainly held to select students for admissions for the various Integrated First-Degree programs of BITS Pilani at Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad campuses.
BITSAT 2018 Application Process and Slot Booking
The online application process has begun from December 19, 2017. The application form can be submitted tentatively until 1st week of March 2018.
Only one application form can be submitted and multiple applications are not permitted. Initially, a candidate has to register with their full name, gender, date of birth and email id. Other personal details such as parents name, address, mobile number, qualifying exam details, scanned photographs and signatures, the preferred course of study, desired exam test center (3 choices) etc. has to be provided before payment of the application fees.
The payment of fees is possible through debit card or credit card, net banking and cash payment at any ICICI bank branch. Candidates can also make corrections to their applications, if any, from 15th - 19th March 2018. A successful application process generates a unique application number, which is to be kept for further correspondences if the need arises.
Slot Booking
This step is then followed by the slot booking process. This is again done online from the official site of BITS Pilani. It is important to remember that only those who have applied for BITSAT 2018 and paid the application fees can book slots to write it.
Slot booking simply involves the process of booking the actual test date, time of exam prior to attempting the exam. Candidate can choose their preferred slots based on the availability at the particular exam center. In other words, there will be a limit on the number of candidates at every center.
Since this is done before the actual exam, huge caution is required while filling out these details during BITSAT 2018 slot booking. Once these details are submitted, they can’t be altered at any cost, including a change in exam centers. In other words, the particular slots chosen by a candidate becomes final.
The expected time period to book the test date and time slots is from the 3rd week of March to 1st week of April 2018. Prior to this, test center allotments are expected to be out by 2nd week of March 2018.
Exam centers are usually allocated based on candidates’ preferences given at the time of filling the application form. Thus, this step is crucial at the first stage, to select three preferred exam centers. The admit cards for candidates will then, be ready for download, probably from 3rd week of April after all the allotments are correctly done.
BITSAT 2018 Slot Booking: Errors to Be Avoided
The slot booking process is quite simple, easy to go about and can be done in the comfort of one’s home.
However, it’s important to remember that any candidate who fails to book their own exam slots within given time period, will be given a slot by BITS. So, if you need to do it on your time, you have to hurry when the booking process begins.
A common mistake made by students is waiting till the last date of slot booking. It’s definitely not advisable! This is simply because BITSAT 2018 slot booking is done in real time.
One has to be really quick and book their slots in 1-2 minutes. The availability of slots is subject to change by the minute. So, to save time, one can go through the list of test centers, in advance as this selection takes more time than other two.
The admit card and other instructions for BITSAT 2018 are made available only if the exam slots are booked on time.
Steps to Follow:
1)The first step is to head over to the official website for BITS Pilani and click on the link provided for slot booking under BITS admissions. Details such as Application number, gender, date of birth and e-mail id, have to submit here.
2) In this step, one gets to choose the preferred date to write BITSAT 2018, from the options displayed on the screen.
Available dates will be displayed in green color, and a candidate can choose from amongst them before confirming it and proceeding to the next step.
3) For time slot selection, a preferred time slot can be selected from the options given. There will be two-time slots to choose from; 8.30 am - 11.30 am and 12.30 pm - 3.30 pm. After selecting a time slot, candidates have to confirm it and book the slot.
At this step, the exam dates can be changed by utilizing the specific change tab, if the desired selection is not free for the candidate. But it is not possible once the final booking is confirmed. Details like candidate’s name, test center, test date and test slot will be displayed at each step, to be cross-checked. The entire process is completed when the final slot selection is confirmed.
Since all this is available on first come first basis, candidates are advised to complete the slot booking process for BITSAT 2018 as soon as it opens up and the links are provided on the official site. The BITSAT 2018 exam will take place in the 3rd week of May to last week of May 2018.
