British Council collaborates with schools and initiates 'English Language Quality Assurance' programm
Schools and British Council mutually understand the relevance of English language in global relations and employment.
By combining quality resources with realistic but exacting quality standards, the programme aims to have a very positive impact on learner outcomes.
As part of this programme, British Council offer schools a ‘Quality Assurance Service’ by which they can be members of the British Council’s ‘English Language Quality Standards Membership Network.’
A school becomes a member by operating at level four of the British Council’s ‘Quality Standards Framework’ through successful on-site review of their English language programmes of study. After a period of two years the membership can be renewed again basis a review.
Venkateshwar International School, Sector -18, Dwarka, New Delhi and Bluebells School, Kailash Colony, New Delhi are the first two schools that were successfully reviewed and awarded the Membership by the British Council today in Delhi. (Photos attached for reference).
Rob Lynes, Country Director, British Council, India said, “To engage in a multi-cultural the world, you need to know two, or ideally three languages. In the last few years there has been a greater demand for English language across the country. We support the teaching and learning of English in India and help create opportunities for young people to develop new skills, become better qualified, and develop a better understanding of other cultures. I am sure that The English Language Quality Standards (ELQS) Programme will be very engaging and useful to its members and in particular their students."
