Do not miss the fabulous artworks at the refurbished Bombay House belonging to the Tata Group

Mumbai, July 12 (IBNS): Bombay House, the Tata Group’s global headquarters in Maharashtra's capital city, is now sporting some fabulous artworks executed by Baaya Design in collaboration with Somaya & Kalappa Consultants.

Key Tata companies share floor-space at the refurbished Bombay House..

Every mural or installation, therefore, was designed to highlight a unique set of priorities that cater to a larger Tata purpose.

Baaya picked contemporary art forms to facilitate this story-telling and interaction.

The immense artworks opened up several challenges relating to scale, logistics and installation, according to Baaya Design.

An image of Jamsetji Tata was infinitely detailed in 38,000 anodised screws.

In the basement cafeteria, 2D and 3D mixed media illustrations captured the Tata’s many contributions to Mumbai – from India’s first air carrier to the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel and the Tata Nano.

The Tata Motors world map is made by laser cutting fibreboard along with copper leafing on the surface.

Copper screws are screwed on in varying heights to create an undulating curved surface and used to hang sparkling aspiration diamonds.

This detailed string art at the Tata Power wall is a multi-layered artwork that beautifully breaks down the complexity of the journey of energy.

The first layer is a print of children's artwork on acrylic sheet which depicts the different sources of energy.

On top of that is a charcoal texture painted ply with cutwork and the topmost layer is of string art in dual shades

The installations give employees a tactile way to interact with the past, present and future of the company they form a part of.

Mumbai-based Baaya Design uses design intervention along with heritage skills to create products for modern interiors; be it homes, offices or the hospitality industry.
