India dedicates Sunday to celebrate Friendship Day
New Delhi, Aug 2 (IBNS): India dedicated this Sunday to friends as it joined the rest of the world in celebrating Friendship Day.
The day has gained importance in this consumerised world where friends are indulged in not only greetings but also gifting each other.
Friends exchange cards, chocolates and most importantly, colourful friendship bands on this day to show their love and care for each other.
In this age of technology, celebrating the occasion has has found its access with friends wishing each other either through Short Message Service (SMS) or on social networking sites.
Social networking sites can be seen flooding with Friendship Day messages.
Tollywood actress Koel Mallick posted: "Flaunting no.of bands in school!only later dat u realise..the deeper meaning of it!Celebrating FRIENDSHIP in every relationship!Love&Faith:)"
Wishing netizens, musician Salim Merchant tweeted: "Happy friendship day to all my Twitter family!"
