India dedicates Sunday to celebrate Friendship Day

New Delhi, Aug 2 (IBNS): India dedicated this Sunday to friends as it joined the rest of the world in celebrating Friendship Day.
The day has gained importance in this consumerised world where friends are indulged in not only greetings but also gifting each other.

Friends exchange cards, chocolates and most importantly, colourful friendship bands on this day to show their love and care for each other.

In this age of technology, celebrating the occasion has has found its access with friends wishing each other either through Short Message Service (SMS) or on social networking sites.

Social networking sites can be seen flooding with Friendship Day messages.

Celebrities also indulged in wishing friends on Twitter.
 
Actress Maduri Dixit-Nene tweeted: Happy Friendship Day! To all my fans and friends, thank u for all the love and support!!!"
 
Sharing his thoughts, filmmaker Karan Johar posted: "Friendship is an underrated relationship...it actually is the biggest strength to have...true friends are more than family...#FriendshipDay"

Actress Shraddha Kapoor wished her fans a Happy Friendship Day and thanked them for their constant support. The actress tweeted," Happy friendship day u guys,my most special friends,who have stood by me in the highs and lows,inspired me to be a better actress and person"
 
Wishing friends, actor Ayushmann Khurrana wrote: "Pyaar Dosti hai." #FilmyFriendshipDay #KKHH."
