Jwala Gutta, KK add verve to Aakash Institute celebrations
Kolkata, July 14 (IBNS): National Badminton player Jwala Gutta and singer KK glammed up the Vyom 2014 celebrations of Aakash Institute as a mentoring institute for thousands of Indian students on Sunday.
Vyom 2014 was anchored by RJ Roy in his well-known, refreshing style.
J.C. Chowdhury, the Managing Director of Aakash and academician, said, “Aakash has mentored thousands of students across India. Our students have done extremely well in medical and engineering, where they have made a mark. Aakash is beside them.”
He described Aakash’s journey for the last 26 years that has gradually shaped his dream as well as the dreams of thousands of "Aakashians".
Bina Agarwal, Chief Coordinator of Aakash Institute boastfully stated the achievements of the Aakashians in JEE (Main), JEE (Advanced), WBJEE and AIPMT 2014. She said, “Aakash have witnessed the efforts of the students by rendering uncompromising effort.”
Hundreds of Aakashians were felicitated by the faculty teachers while the auditorium echoed with claps. “The Aakashian T-shirt and the medal really makes them proud today,” said Roy.
It was Jwala Gutta, one of the most promising badminton players in India, an Olympian and the winner of National Badminton Championships for 13 times till 2010, who walked up the stage to boost the Aakashians.
On education she said, “This is a competitive world, but we not only need to educate ourselves but also need to educate others too, then only we can develop a good society.”
When asked by Roy about the mantra of success she said’ “Ups and downs are a part of life, life does not stop, so you should not become depressed and spend sleepless nights but start learning from failures and downfall. Life is beautiful and there is a lot to learn, so if there are no downs and no ups then there is no learning.”
The ‘Aakashians of the Year’ were awarded trophies by Jwala Gutta along with J.C. Chowdhury, the MD of Aakash and the faculties amidst a huge roar from the audience.
The event reached its summit with the long awaited performance by popular singer, KK who entertained the young audience with his most popular numbers like ‘Yaaron Dosti’, ‘Bas Ek Pal’ ‘Abhi Abhi’ etc. Vyom 2014 ended with a blast.
Aakash Institute has consistently been producing top rankers for Entrance Exams in India. Their student base is more than 80,000 with country-wide network of over 101 centres.
