Kolkata, Mar 6 (IBNS): Students' union room in south Kolkata's Charuchandra College was ransacked and several students were injured during a clash between two rival groups of state's ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC)'s students wing- Trinamool Chhatra Parishad (TMCP)- on Monday afternoon, reports said.

According to reports, due to a college-related issue, students of the two groups engaged in a skirmish with each other at the college campus, when an examination was underway there, at Lake Market area.

They reportedly vandalized students' union room and several students, including few women, were hurt during the clash.

Later a heavy police force from nearby Tollygunge Police Station rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
