Kolkata/IBNS: Lions Clubs International, District 322B2, decided to observe their Foundation Day with greater emphasis on their social activities through 20 events organised on a single day, the organisation said.

Some of the key activities undertaken during the day included a blood donation camp (where members themselves donated blood), distribution of dry ration to people affected by the super cyclone Amphan, distribution of meals to 1,200 people through the organisation's 'Roti Wheels' project, tree plantation, etc.

Several health-related programmes were also held, such as sponsoring dialysis of patients from the underprivileged community, providing hampers of basic necessities for new born baby girls under their 'Nanhi Pari' scheme, etc.

Said Lion Arun Jain, District Governor of Lions Clubs International, District 322B2, said, “During this pandemic, if there is one thing that needs to be done – Is to stand by the society and serve our own people, our own environment, our own animals, our own society, because, if not now, then when? If not we, then who? ”
