Mumbai, Apr 30 (IBNS): Mumbai Smiles, the Non-Profit organization based in Andheri East in Mumbai has successfully completed 10 years of serving the disempowered this month. Marking this occasion the NGO is expanding the number of Balwadi's from 25 to 50 in 2015 to encourage educational development in Mumbai slums.
“Since our inception in 2005, we have continued to focus on educational projects, because we still believe that education is the key to development.  We have launched 25 Balwadi’s with the objective to cultivate healthy habits among the children in the slum areas and bring about educational development. Further we wanted to reduce the level of malnutrition among children. We are very proud to share that in last 5 years we have successfully provided nutrition & basic education to more than 3500 kids through our Balwadis and provided support to more than 450 students for higher education in last 3 years, through our Future Smiles project. This year has been one of deliberate transformation but we cannot let it stop now. We are looking at expanding the number of Balwadi’s from 25 to 50 by the year-end 2015. This will help us reach out to more kids”, shared Jaume Sanlorrente, Founder, Mumbai Smile.

“I am happy to know that Mumbai Smiles has completed its ten years. The organization is focused on helping communities lead healthier, smarter and more sustainable live. Along with skill development among youths and women, Mumbai Smiles places focus on providing under-privileged children a chance to quality education. I extend my best wishes for the future endeavors of Mumbai Smiles,” said the Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister Maharashtra to Mumbai Smiles on completing 10 years of its successful journey.
