Oomph factor crucial part in modelling : Agnimitra Paul
Kolkata, Oct 7 (IBNS) Fashion designer Agnimitra Paul, whose muslin creations triggered waves at a recent premier fashion show, says she has found the new show-stopper and model of her upcoming project from an eastern region talent hunt.
"What I always look for is the expression and oomph factor as look comes third in any model hunt. Being more or less stylish hardly matters," Agnimitra tells IBNS at the final round of the FFACE contest for the mobile faces to be featured in a calendar, a passage to the world of showbiz in both modelling and acting spheres.
Observing that height plays an important role for girls, Agnimitra says, "For a Bengali girl 5 ft 6 inch is an ideal height for modelling. But that is complemented by the attitude. And expression before camera, as modelling is also one form of acting."
"Several of the girls meet these criterion and yes I have got a future showstopper and model from this show I guess. I always wish to work with fresh faces, with different kinds of people. There can be dreams in everyone's eyes, but one has to know how to nurture the same," she says.
Director Raj Chakraborty, having earlier zeroed in on Koushani Mukherjee for his teenage romantic drama Parbona Ami Charte Toke, says he always looks forward to spot new faces and talents in such platforms. "Yes Koushani made it from this contest last year. I am open to the possibility of another contestant making it to Tollywood in next year," he says.
Asked what remained to be learnt by the contestants, Raj, the Kanamachhi director, quips, "Even I am yet to learn many things. I am still learning the ropes."
Memories in March Director Sanjay Nag says there is not much difference between Kolkata youngsters who wish to take up the career in modelling and their counterparts in Mumbai.
"Only thing is that for a young aspirant, grooming is all that crucial to make the cut."
More than 20 finalists were named after the final round awaiting their tryst with the world of showbiz which is more of toil and dedication, FFACE spearhead Neil Roy says after the final round at Park Hotel's Tantra.
