Kolkata, Aug 29 (IBNS): Fashion institute INIFD, Lindsay Street celebrated the Annual Graduation Show on Wednesday with Tollywood actor-director Parambrata Chatterjee, who won national fame with the Vidya Balan starrer Kahani, attending the event and wishing the students good luck for future.

Susan Mantosh, Director, Inter National Institute of Fashion Design or INIFD , was present as ‘Seasons’ was its theme of the show at Lindsay Street campus in Kolkata.

“Fashion is an ever changing and continuous phenomenon. I wish all the best to the students who have showcased their talents in this exhibition, I hope to see these talents flourishing in the fashion industry,” said Susan Mantosh.

To give their students an edge over the others, INIFD holds its graduating exhibition show once every year for the final semester students to create for them a platform in the viable and ever changing world of fashion.

‘Season’ being the theme of the exhibition the students had decorated different rooms keeping a particular season in mind that depicted the flavours pertaining to each season.

Each room was a treasure chest of designer products which included saris with embellishments in a wide range of fabrics woven and developed in different techniques. While the summer room flaunted colourful summer dresses, the winter room was full of heavy woolen garments.

In keeping with the idea of best out of waste, the students had chosen the theme as ‘The 3R’s: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.’

Souparno Mitra, the Center Head of INIFD Lindsay Street, boasted: “It’s amazing to see how much my area has changed. A really lovely exhibition that gives a good representation of ‘Great Nature and Environment, Keep Green and Keep the Seasons Alive’.

A wide range of fashion accessories like ear rings, bangles, neck pieces, bracelets developed with beads, tie and die materials and designer home products like bed sheets, pillow covers, curtains, pots painted, décor lights, photo frames etc. were also a part of the display.

“I feel great to have become a part of the exhibition, the displays are great, I wish all the luck to INIFD students for future,” said Parambrata.
