Kolkata, Sept 13 (IBNS): Qissaa, an eclectic lifestyle store in south Kolkata, which is ready to launch their brand new festive collection of 2016, has unveiled Nakshikanthas on saris and home decor.

Most of these kantha saris are made in Bangladesh, especially in
Mymensingh, Rajshahi, Faridpur and Jessore.

“We plan to launch a unit in Bengal for making Nakshi Kanthas soon”,
says Vibha Mitra, owner, Qissaa.

The prices are in the range of Rs 9,500 to Rs 12,000.

“The technique of using organic dyes is as old as our epics. You can
actually soak hortuki  with some herbs and get the dye of your choice.
Though the process is a bit difficult and the colours are less
permanent, the result is mind-blowing,” says Mitra.

Qissaa also has hand-made stoles, dupattas, bedcovers, dohars, cushion
covers, bags, trinkets and shawls on offer.
