Rotary to donate wheelchairs and food for Missionaries of Charity run children home

Kolkata, June 30 (IBNS) Rotary International District 3291 shall donate 10 Special Wheelchairs along with Baby Powder, 10 quintal Rice, pulses, and detergent powder for 118 children at Nirmala Shishu Bhavan run by the Mother Teresa-founded Missionaries of Charity.

The new Rotary year begins on Sunday 1st July under the new district governor Mukul Sinha.

Different Clubs from Rotary District 3291 shall also donate 25 ceiling fans to Calcutta Blind School, Behala apart from organising several medical camps, tree plantation programmes, blood donation camps to mark the beginning,  said Rotary’s spokesperson Subhojit Roy.

Rotary International District 3291 is spread over 12 revenue districts of West Bengal and Anadaman & Nicobar Islands and the new Rotary year shall lay special emphasis on Cevical Cancer Awareness & Prevention, Thalassaemia Awareness & Prevention through which Rotary aims to touch few lakhs among the target underprivileged population. It also focuses on Women Empowerment through vocational training and economic inclusion of women through such job oriented training.
