Samsung unveils Galaxy S26 FE with One UI 9: Here’s everything you need to know
Samsung Electronics has announced the Galaxy S26 FE, the latest addition to the Galaxy S26 family and the first device in the lineup to launch with One UI 9.
The new smartphone brings premium Galaxy features to a wider audience, with enhanced camera capabilities, more context-aware Galaxy AI experiences and a thin, lightweight design.
“Galaxy S26 FE is purposefully designed to deliver the signature strengths of the Galaxy S series, ensuring that every feature makes a meaningful difference in users’ daily lives,” said Jay Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of Customer Experience Office, Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics.
“Packed with beloved Galaxy camera and AI experiences, backed by the latest One UI 9, Galaxy S26 FE comes to life as an ideal choice for those who know exactly what matters most to them,” he added.
Enhanced Camera And Editing Features
The Galaxy S26 FE features an enhanced triple rear-camera system supported by advanced image processing, allowing users to capture and edit photos and videos more easily.
The smartphone also brings My FanCam, first introduced on Samsung's latest Galaxy foldable devices. The feature automatically tracks a selected person and keeps them centred in the frame by intelligently reframing video as the scene changes.
For video recording, Super Steady with Horizontal Lock helps users capture smoother and more level footage, particularly during fast-moving activities, travel and everyday shooting.
The Galaxy S26 FE supports 3x optical zoom, while its upgraded 12MP front camera is designed to capture more of the scene, making group selfies easier.
Samsung's Nightography technology is also included, helping users capture brighter and clearer images in low-light conditions while preserving detail.
Users can further edit images through Photo Assist using natural-language prompts. The feature can make changes such as turning daytime scenes into night, adding elements or restoring missing portions of an image. Edits can also be reviewed step by step and revised or undone.
With Gemini Omni, users can create and edit video clips using photos and videos stored in their Gallery, turning them into shareable videos.
More Context-Aware Galaxy AI
The Galaxy S26 FE runs One UI 9, bringing a range of Galaxy AI features designed to adapt to users' routines and help with everyday tasks.
The updated Now Brief, first introduced with the Galaxy S25 series, offers more personalised information through customisable briefing cards covering areas such as weather and wellness.
Users can also create their own Now Brief cards using simple prompts.
Now Nudge has been expanded to selected third-party apps and notifications, providing timely suggestions and helping users act on relevant information throughout the day.
Meanwhile, Circle to Search with Google can now identify multiple items in an image at the same time, making it easier to search for products, places and other objects.
4,900mAh Battery And 120Hz AMOLED Display
The Galaxy S26 FE is equipped with a 4,900mAh battery, while maintaining the slim design of the Galaxy S26 series.
Samsung says the smartphone can reach up to 69% charge in around 30 minutes when using a 45W adapter.
The device features a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, designed for streaming, gaming, browsing and creative tasks.
Easier Switch To Galaxy
Samsung has also upgraded Smart Switch to simplify the process of moving to a Galaxy device.
Users switching from Android or iOS can scan a QR code to wirelessly transfer data, including passwords and passkeys, call history, accessibility settings and eSIM data, without requiring additional apps.
The Galaxy S26 FE will receive up to seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates, according to Samsung.
For additional protection, Samsung Care+ offers device coverage and support. A new Warranty and Care settings hub in One UI 9 allows users to enrol in and manage Samsung Care+ and other device-care services.
Samsung is also offering a six-month free trial of Google AI Pro, which includes expanded AI capabilities and 5TB of cloud storage valued at $19.99 per month.
Availability
The Galaxy S26 FE will be available from September 4 in select markets.
It will be offered in three colour options: Blueberry, Graphite and Pistachio.
