1 hardcore KPLT militant killed in Assam

Guwahati, June 11 (IBNS) : A hardcore KPLT militant was killed during a gun fight with security forces in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district on Saturday, officials said.

Based on intelligence input, the police and army launched operation at Kolonga Bazar area near Baithalangso in the hill district, where a militant group had taken shelter.

When the troops reached the remote area, the militant group started firing and heavily exchanged bullets between security personnel and militants occurred.

“During the gun fight a militant was killed on spot and others of the group had managed to flee from the area,” a police official said.

Security forces recovered a pistol and several rounds live ammunition from the area.

On the other hand, the troops had launched operation at the surrounding areas to nab the fled militants.
