10 army jawans killed in Ultra attack in Manipur

Imphal, June 4 (IBNS) Ten jawans were killed and 12 others seriously injured when ultras ambushed an army convoy in Manipur's Chandel district on Thursday.

 Reports said the slain jawans belonged to the  6 Dogra regiment.

The ambush was laid by an unidentified insurgents at Motluk under Tengnoupal Police Station in the district.

The jawans  were caught unawares when militants opened fire on their convoy . Though they retaliated, the army unit suffered heavy casualties.
