14 injured in Holi fire mishap at Ujjain Mahakal temple

Ujjain/UNI: Over 14 people were injured in a fire that broke out in the sanctum sanctorum of Ujjain’s Mahakal temple during Holi festivities on Monday morning, police said.

The injured have been admitted to the hospital. On receiving information about the incident, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav himself contacted the Ujjain administration and gave the officials the necessary instructions.

Ujjain Collector Neeraj Kumar Singh said, "A magisterial inquiry has been ordered into the fire incident which took place during Bhasm Arti in the Mahakal temple."

The Chief Executive Officer of the District Panchayat, Mrinal Meena, and Additional Collector, Anukul Jain, will review the entire incident and submit the report within three days.
