25 killed in Madhya Pradesh gas cylinder burst

Jhabua, Madhya Pradesh, Sept 12 (IBNS) Alleast 25 people were killed and 80 injured when a gas cylinder exploded at a restaurant near Madhya Pradesh's Jhabua district on Saturday morning, reports said.

The explosion at Sethiya Restaurant, situated near a bus stand in Petlawad town, took place around 9 in the morning. The single storey building housing the restaurant collapsed under the impact of the huge explosion. 

A number of adjacent buildings were also damaged.

Police said more people are feared to be trapped under the debris and rescue operation is on.

Police said explosives for making fireworks were allegedly stored in the restaurant located in a residential area.
