5.7 quake hit Nepal

Kathmandu, May 16 (IBNS) An earthquake measuring 5 .7 on the Richter Scale hit Nepal on Saturday, officials said.

The epicentre of the earthquake, which hit the nation at 17:04 IST, is located at Latitude 27.5 degrees north and longitude 86.0 degrees east, the Indian Meteorological Department  website said.

The IMD has called the earthquake as 'moderate'.

Aftershocks measuring 4.2 and 3.5 on the Richter Scale were earlier felt by the nation which has been hit by major earthquakes in the past few weeks.
