8-year-old die from teacher's beating in UP

Lucknow, Apr 9 (IBNS) An eight-year-old boy died after he was severely beaten up by the head of his school in Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh, said media reports on Thursday.

The boy, identified as Shiva from Class II, was reportedly beaten up for allegedly stealing a pen, said reports. He died on Wednesday succumbing to his injuries from the beating after the pen the school principal lost was found in his bag.

He was a student of Dwarka Prasad Academy.

School principal, Lalit Verma, was arrested later, said reports.

Parents of the boy alleged he was punched and kicked and he was vomiting blood.
