New Delhi, Sept 26 (UNI): The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has appointed senior party leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh as election in-charge for the Delhi Assembly elections to be held early next year.

This decision was taken in the meeting of AAP's Political Affairs Committee (PAC) on Thursday.

The PAC has appointed party's national secretary Pankaj Gupta as Campaign Director for Delhi Assembly polls.

'These decisions are a part of the AAP's election strategy, in anticipation of the party’s preparations for the forthcoming Assembly polls, since the party is of the view that there is a likelihood of dates for Delhi elections being announced along with Jharkhand soon,' the AAP said.

AAP will contest the Delhi Assembly polls on the basis of the historic performance of its elected government, which has changed the face of the national capital and has ensured all round development.

Party volunteers will take the work of the Delhi government in Health, Education, Electricity and Water sectors to every household of the city.

'Arvind Kejriwal government's decision to provide 200 units of electricity free every month, installation of CCTVs across Delhi, 20K Litres of water free per month per household having metered connections, Mohalla Clinics across Delhi are some of the key decisions to be highlighted,' it said.

The party added that it is confident of repeating its 2015 performance in the Delhi elections.
