AAP heading for huge victory, counting on in Delhi

New Delhi, Feb 10 (IBNS): : Counting of votes in the Delhi Assembly polls progressed on Tuesday as Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is heading for an absolute majority as per the trends while BJP is trailing much behind in the second spot and Congress appeared to have been decimated.

AAP is leading in 45 seats while the Bharatiya Janata Party is ahead in 12 seats. AAP said it might bag anything between 50 and 57 seats as celebrations already began in their camps.

The Congress is leading in three seats.

A BJP spokesperson on TV said the victory is a referendum on Arvind Kejriwal and they must have done something remarkable in their 49 days in power and communicated well with the people.

In the morning Arvind Kejriwal tweeted: "All the very best Delhiites. Do pray. Prayers are very powerful."

AAP leader Yogendra Yadav said: "This may be a historic day! The juggernaut likely to halt. David likely to overcome Goliath. Hope lives again."

BJP's CM candidate Kiran Bedi was initially trailing in Krishna Nagar seat too.

Congress leader Ajay Maken was also trailing in Sadar Bazar seat.

The poll was seen as a battle between Arvind Kejriwal and the charisma of Narendra Modi since a Modi wave was sweeping rest of India since the BJP cam to power last year at the centre.
