Aayakar Bhawan inaugurated Resolve grievances of growing taxpayer base in J&K: Sitharaman to tax officials

Srinagar/IBNS: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman Monday inaugurated the newly constructed Aayakar Bhawan-cum-Residential Complex, Rajbagh.

In her keynote address, Sitharaman thanked the people of Jammu & Kashmir for their contribution in enabling the commissioning of 'The Chinars' Aaykar Bhawan and the attached facilities.

Dedicating the project to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, she said the Income Tax Office, Srinagar will be a bridge to connect the people with best taxpayer services and aid in resolving taxation issues through the Aaykar Sewa Kendra.

She observed that it will provide an enabling environment for the “Jan bhagidari” of the region.

Later, in her interaction with tax administrators and stakeholders at SKICC, Sitharaman urged CBDT & CBIC officers to be agents of change and reach out to all industries and businessmen to ascertain their expectations from the government.

On the occasion, the Lt Governor said J&K has been steadily progressing in its true sense, offering opportunities to women, youth, entrepreneurs and farmers alike in the past two years

The Industrial Scheme worth Rs 28,400 crore has opened up investment opportunities globally which will lead to a rapid development in J&K, he said.

We have already received proposals worth Rs 29,000 crore and expect it to reach Rs 35,000 crore by ending December, he added.
