#AccordingToRahulGandhi: Twitterati troll Congress President over his 'Coca-Cola' remark

| @indiablooms | Jun 11, 2018, at 06:57 pm

New Delhi, Jun 11 (IBNS): Twitterati have seized another opportunity to troll Congress president Rahul Gandhi as the latter on Monday said Coca-Cola founder started his business initially by selling "shikanji" or lemonade in the United States.

Rahul made the comment while addressing a large gathering in the national capital on Monday.

Rahul has been quoted by NDTV, "The man who started Coca-Cola sold Shikanji in the US. He sold sugar mixed in water. His experience was acknowledged. His skill was recognised and rewarded."

He added, "You know McDonald's. It is everywhere. Who started it? He ran a dhaba (food joint) but we all have seen the brand's progress. You show me one person who runs a dhaba and has set up a Coca-Cola in India. Ford was a mechanic, so was Honda."

Rahul has alleged that the present Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government is not supportive enough to nurture talents in the country.

The Congress president added, "It's not that we don't have talent, knowledge, power, ability...but we don't have banks willing to help, offer loans. The government isn't supportive."

Following his comments, several Twitter users have started trolling Rahul by creating #AccordingToRahulGandhi.

Twitter user with name BharatBarsha said: "McDonald Dhaba Owner found."

Another user invoked Telephone inventor Alexander Graham Bell to troll the Congress president.

User with name Bad Company trolled Rahul by referring to a movie still. "He is the owner of KFC" he said.

Rahul Roushan referred to a roadside shikanji stall as a "competitor of Coca Cola".

Roushan said: "Here is @indiantweeter all set to launch a competitor of Coca Cola #AccordingToRahulGandhi"

Taking the troll to a new height, another user said Apple co-founder Steve Jobs was actually an Apple seller during his childhood.

He said: "#AccordingToRahulGandhi Steve Jobs in his childhood days was selling Apples."

In 1886, American pharmacist John Stith Pemberton developed a beverage which later became Coca-Cola.
