Afghanistan: Suspected Taliban terrorists gun down district’s executive head in Sar-i-Pul

Kabul, Feb 3 (IBNS): Suspected Taliban terrorists have gunned down the executive director for Gosfandi district of northern Sar-i-Pul province in Afghanistan, media reports said on Sunday.

The slain person was identified as Mohammad Tahir Azizi.

According to reports, the executive director was shot dead when he was returning home from a mosque in Qalqola locality.

Zabihullah Amani, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News Mohammad Tahir Azizi was shot dead on his way home from a mosque in Qalqola locality on Saturday night.

After the incident, he said, a clash erupted between the militants and uprising members in the area. One militant was killed in the fire exchange, reported the Afghanistan-based news agency.

No group has claimed responsibility for the incident so far.
