New Delhi, Sept 3 (IBNS) : The Aam Aadmi Party on Saturday suspended its ex-minister Sandeep Kumar after a controversy over a 'sex tape' which showed him in a compromising position with a woman, reports said.

Earlier this week, Kumar  was sacked from the cabinet.

He was Minister for women and child welfare.

A high-level party meeting decided to suspend him.

A further decision on expelling him from the party will be taken later, media reports said quoting AAP's Delhi convenor Dilip Pandey.

The 36-year-old MLA from Sultanpur Majra, who pleaded innocence,  said he was targeted for being a Dalit.

However, party chief and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal asserted that the party has no place for offenders.
