New Delhi/IBNS: Ailing former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who is in hospital, is now doing fine, Congress secretary Pranab Jha said.

Jha tweeted, "This is to inform that Dr Manmohan Singh ji is doing fine. He is better than yesterday. Let’s all wish him a speedy recovery. Any unfounded speculation is unnecessary and in bad taste. Also request all to respect the Former PM's privacy. Thank you!"

Singh, who remained the Prime Minister from 2004 to 2014, was admitted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Wednesday after he complained of fever and weakness.

Earlier in April, Singh was admitted to AIIMS after he had the COVID-19 infection.
