Mumbai, June 10 (IBNS): The Uttar Pradesh official bungalow vacated by former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav was found in a damaged state, media reports said.

The entire incident has triggered a controversy with the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Samajwadi Party exchanging barbs over the issue.

The estate department earlier invited media to show the damage done to the bungalow.

The Times of India reported: "Photographs and videos of broken tiles, sanitary and electrical fittings started doing the rounds on social media on Saturday after mediapersons were allowed to have a look of the bungalow in the morning."

Akhilesh said the entire move was made by the BJP to malign his image.

Hewas quoted as saying by The Times of India: "The estate officers who invited the media for a tour of my erstwhile bungalow should send me a list of what all losses their department has suffered .... But I know the intention behind all this is not about losses to the department," the former CM said.

He served as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh from 2012 to 2017.

Current CM Yogi Adityanath led-BJP won the Assembly polls int he state in 2017 to form the government in the politically crucial north Indian state.
