Amid high thrill, India to take on Pak in World Cup '15
New Delhi, Feb 15 (IBNS): Amid high hopes and spirits, all are eyes are perhaps glued to the television sets in India on Sunday as the high voltage match in the ICC Cricket World Cup between rivals India and Pakistan is all set to commence from 9 AM.
A little under 55,000 spectators will gather at the Adelaide Oval stadium in Australia.
According to former Pakistani skipper Wasim Akram, huge number of Indian and Pakistani spectators are expected to assemble at the stadium.
Over 1.2 billion people in India and around 183 million in Pakistan will in some way be connected to Australia.
In fact radio commentaries will also be sought in places where TV has not reached yet.
A day before the thrilling contest, Indian captain MS Dhoni on Saturday said the World Cup match against arch-rivals Pakistan will be a 'high voltage' encounter.
“It will be a high voltage game,” Dhoni was quoted as saying by bcci.tv.
“With so many fans coming from India, it will be a houseful. It's one of the most prized games when it comes to the ODI format. It's a perfect scenario to start and the preparations leading up to the game has been fantastic. When we play Pakistan there's definitely more intensity on the field, and with a lot of fans being around, I think it will be an opportunity for everyone to raise their level of performance," he had said.
Speaking on India's good record against Pakistan in World Cup, Dhoni had said, “I'm not somebody who believes greatly in stats. Irrespective of where the stats lie, what's most important for us will be the execution part. We have got quite a few plans and need to be consistent in its execution. We have lacked a bit on that front; hopefully we will start executing well.”
“The bowlers are looking good. We had a couple of practice sessions and they made the most out of it. The yorker bowling was really good by all the fast bowlers, and at the same time the variations have also looked good in the nets. Where we drastically need to improve is the easy boundary balls in the first few overs when the ball is new and the batsmen can actually use your pace. Bowling well in the first ten overs will be a key factor,” the captain had said on bowling.
