Anarchist cannot rule Delhi: Narendra Modi

| | Jan 10, 2015, at 07:43 pm
New Delhi, Jan 10 (IBNS) A self-confessed anarchist cannot rule Delhi, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday campaigning for the upcoming assembly elections in the national capital as he attacked the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and its chief Arvind Kejriwal and promised 24 hours power to the people of the national capital.

"If one wants anarchy he should go to the jungles and join the Naxalites. We are adept in ruling in governments and so let us rule," said Modi  at the Ramlila ground  as he set in motion the poll campaign of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) since the poll dates would be announced any time soon now.

At a rally attended by party president Amit Shah and the BJP chief ministers of Haryana, Jharkhand and Maharashtra, where the party came to power recently, Modi said AAP (without naming) is good at squatting and agitating while we are good at governance.

"There were Congress governments in Haryana and Delhi. They had different statements from different places. And people suffered from water crisis," he said.

He said cheap electricity will be in question only when there is electricity.

"We will free Delhi from generators and make the air clean," said Modi as he promised to proved 24 hours power supply in Delhi.

Modi said Delhi will become the first state to have power portability like mobile portability, adding that Delhiites will be able to choose their power suppliers.

Modi said he is trying to root out corruption from top and claimed that 19.5 lakh bank accounts have been opened in Delhi.

Modi said development should be the main agenda and not politics.
