AP Assembly Election: Chandrababu Naidu resigns, Guv accepts

Amaravati, May 23 (UNI): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu submitted his resignation letter to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Governor E S L Narasimhan on Thursday evening.

The Governor has accepted the resignation and advised Naidu to continue as caretaker Chief Minister till the new Chief Minister assumes charge.

Official sources in the wake of the debacle in the Assembly election, the Chief Minister decided to resign on Thursday afternoon itself and send his resignation to the Governor.

The Governor appreciated the Chief Minister for extending services to the people of the state for five years.

The Governor would invite YSRCP President Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy to form the government after Election Commission of India sent him the relevant documents regarding the election of new MLAs and Reddy stakes claim.
