Arms, cash recovered from Rajdhani express in Guwahati , two persons nabbed

Guwahati, Apr 24 (IBNS) : Security forces on Friday apprehended two persons and recovered arms and Rs 80 lakh cash from Rajdhani express in Guwahati Railway station, police said.

Following a tip-off, GRP and Guwahati city police jointly launched an operation at the railway station and recovered arms and Rs 80 lakh cash from two persons who traveled in the Delhi bound Rajdhani express train.

"During the operation security personnel had recovered one 0.32 pistol, 29 rounds live ammunition from a person who was traveling in the train from Dimapur in Nagaland. Security personnel also recovered Rs 80 lakh cash from a businessman, " a police official said.

The nabbed persons were identified as Rajdeep Singh and Bhajanlal Mahato.
