Army defuses Pakistan shell in border town of Uri
Srinagar/UNI: A Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) of Army on Monday defused a powerful unexploded shell fired by Pakistani troops from across the border during ceasefire violation in border town of Uri in north Kashmir district of Baramulla, official sources said.
They said Pak troops recently violated 2003 ceasefire and fired mortar shells, targeting forward position and civilian areas in Hajipeer sector in Uri.
However, one of the shell fell at village Dardkote near the Line of Control (LoC) and did not exploded.
The Army was informed and later a BDS was rushed to the spot, they said adding the shell was later defused without any damage.
