Arvind Kejriwal to announce AAP's Gujarat CM face today

| @indiablooms | Nov 04, 2022, at 04:17 pm

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will announce his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)'s Chief Ministerial face for the upcoming Gujarat assembly elections on Friday.

The candidate will be named on the basis of public opinion.

Last week, Kejriwal had launched a campaign to choose the AAP face for the state elections which will be held early December.

The Election Commission of India on Thursday announced Gujarat, which is also Prime Minister Narendra Modi's homestate, will go to polling in two phases on Dec 1 and Dec 5.

The results will be declared on Dec 8.

Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will face a reelection in both the states.

The battle for Gujarat is set to be three-cornered as the AAP is aggressively campaigning to oust the BJP, which has been ruling the state for nearly three decades.

The Congress, which was close to a win in the 2017 assembly elections in the western state, is also fighting for its relevance.
