Assam: 7 killed, 20 others injured in bus-truck collision in Dhubri

Guwahati/IBNS : At least seven people were killed and 20 others sustained injuries after a passenger bus collided with a truck in Assam’s Dhubri district on Sunday.

The incident took place on National Highway – 17 at Gauripur’s Sataiguri area.

According to the reports, the accident took place at the area when a passenger bus was coming from Cooch Behar in West Bengal towards Guwahati and had a head-on collision with a truck coming from opposite direction.

Following the incident, local residents and police rescued the injured persons and immediately admitted them to nearby hospital.

Six people died on spot while one succumbed to his injuries at hospital.
