Assam CM urges Centre to implement One Rank One Pension

Guwahati, Aug 19 (IBNS): Assam Chief Minsiter Tarun Gogoi on Wednesday urged to the Union Government at the Centre to settle the issue of One Rank One Pension (OROP) expeditiously and in an urgent time frame.
In a government statement the Assam CM said that, it is shameful for the nation that the war heroes have to resort to fast-unto-death and then humiliated by the police personnel.

Gogoi urged to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to implement OROP to uphold pride, prestige and morale of the war heroes.

The retired servicemen have been demanding equal pension to them retiring at the same rank regardless of when they retire.
