Assam govt approves Rs 303.82 cr for payment to Rural Local Bodies, GMC

Guwahati, Dec 23 (IBNS): The Assam government on Wednesday approved Rs 303.82 crore for payment to Rural Local Bodies and Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC).
Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi approved Rs 292.40 crore for payment to Rural Local Bodies to enable them to work more efficiently for the development of local areas.
 
The fund has been given to the local bodies to expedite the implementation of various schemes to bolster rural development.
 
Moreover, an amount of Rs 13.4292 crore has also been released to Guwahati Development Department for payment to Guwahati Municipal Corporation.
 
The fund released will be used exclusively for the development various civic aspects of Guwahati.
