Assam registers four new COVID-19 positive cases, Manipur detects one more

Guwahati/IBNS: Assam has reported four more COVID-19 positive cases taking the state's total tally to 95.

Among the four new cases, two cases have been reported from Guwahati and one each case from Sonitpur and Sivasagar.

Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted: “On May 16 NIGHT, 4 more #COVID19 + cases were detected - 2 from Guwahati, 1 each from Sonitpur & Sivasagar, taking total cases to 95; active 50. In view of developing situation, I urge elderly (65+) & children below 10 to strictly stay inside, unless very important.”

Assam has so far witnessed two COVID-19 related deaths while 41 others have been discharged from hospitals.

The state has presently 50 active cases.

On the other hand, Manipur has registered one more infection taking the state's tally to 7.

A 22-year-old girl hailing from Churachandpur who recently returned to the state from Chennai was tested positive.
