Assam Rifles troops apprehend three NSCN (K) cadres with arms in Nagaland

Guwahati, Jun 21 (IBNS): Assam Rifles troops have apprehended three NSCN (K) cadres with arms in Nagaland.

Based on specific input of 11 WEU and by own sources regarding presence of cadres of NSCN (K) Yung Aung faction in Kohima for carrying out illegal extortion on the orders of SS Lt Col Kisheto of NSCN (K) in the capital city of Nagaland, the Kohima Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) conducted an operation.

Assam Rifles troops established a Mobile Vehicle Check Post (MVCP) at general area D block, Kohima and during conduct of spot check, SS Maj Toka, SS NK Vikhuga Jimo and  Ameno Yephmo were apprehended.

Security personnel had recovered one point 22 pistol, two rounds of point 22 pistol, 3 extortion slips (NSCN/GPRN/K) and  Rs 10,000 Korean currency in possession from them.
