New Delhi, Jan 25 (IBNS) In a joint take-down by the NIA and ATS to curb down terrorism in India and prevent ISIS intervention in the country, at least 94 websites have been blocked by the security agencies for being pro-ISIS, according to reports.

Claiming that ISIS involvement in India is the highest in Maharashtra, ATS Chief Vivek Phansalkar was quoted by Hindustan Times as saying, "The influence of ISIS is clearly seen in Maharashtra and 10-12 other states. We have also seen youth radicalizing through online platforms. The ATS is making every attempt to counter these efforts."

Reports have also stated that the security agency is planning to launch its own website to tackle the ISIS in India.

Meanwhile, the DNA reported that Mudabbir Shaikh, a resident of Mumbra, who was arrested on Thursday for possible ISIS link has confessed to be a sleeper cell agent for the terror outfit, who was responsible for supplying youth for several operations.

Shaikh, now 33, is a software programmer by profession. He has been accused of radicalising youth through several online platforms.
