Kolkata, Feb 16 (IBNS): The Seth Sukhlal Karnani Memorial (SSKM) hospital in Kolkata on Monday released Debasish Acharya, the youth who attacked and slapped Mamata Banerjee's nephew and TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee.
On Jan 4,  in a public meeting at Chandipur in East Midnapur district, Debasish Acharya slapped Avishek suddenly on the stage. He was immediately pinned down by the TMC men on the stage and beaten up heavily.

He was seriously injured following the assault.

After 4 days' treatment in East Midnapur State General Hospital, he was shifted to SSKM hospital on Jan 8.

Doctors of SSKM told IBNS that Debasish was well enough and did not need further treatment there in SSKM.

Police has taken Debasish to East Midnapur to present him to the Tamluk court.
