Ayodhya case: Defendant dies of heart attack
Ambedkarnagar/UNI: Defendant number 17 in the Ramjanmabhoomi-Babri mosque title suit Ramesh Chandra Tripathi died here on Tuesday.
He was 84.
Family members said here on Wednesday that Tripathi was very excited over the SC judgement on November 9 and died of a massive heart attack on Tuesday morning at his Bhagwanpatti village residence in Bhiti police station area.
He was cremated in the evening with full state honours on the banks of Saryu river in Ayodhya.
Tripathi was a former auditor in the defence ministry and had written several religious books. He was also given Kabir Samman and Awadh Bhushan by the Hindi sansthan for his literary work.
The 17th defendant in the Ayodhya title suit jumped in the legal battle in 1965.
