Azam Khan's victory in UP is certain: BSP chief Mayawati

| @indiablooms | Apr 20, 2019, at 03:41 pm

Rampur, Apr 20 (UNI) Extending her support to Samajwadi Party (SP) leader and Rampur candidate Azam Khan who is facing backlash for allegedly making derogatory remarks against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Jaya Prada, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati said even if the party in power at the Centre tries lakhs of tactics, the 'gathbandhan' candidate's victory is certain.

Addressing an SP-BSP rally in support of Khan, Mayawati said the BJP leaders are irritated because of their impending defeat in the elections and are using different tactics to defame the alliance candidate, but the public is well aware of their theatrics.

It is impossible to defeat Khan in the present elections, she averred.

The former UP chief minister alleged that in the past five years of this government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, farmers, unemployed youth, poor people, deprived sections, traders, Dailts and almost all sections including the backward people had been exploited. This time, Modi's chowkidar tactic will not work and the farewell of the BJP government is certain.

BSP honcho said she had heard that the BJP's chowkidar were present even in Rampur but this time 'chowkidari' will not work.

No matter how hard the 'chowkidar' tries, his party will not win. From the enthusiasm of the crowd, it seems like the public is ready to give back an answer to the BJP and the RSS. Mr Azam Khan will register a historic victory in Rampur whereas in Moradabad, SP candidate ST Hasan and Sambhal candidate Shafiqur Rahman Burq will also be victorious.

The BSP leader said post Independence, Congress was at the seat of power for more than five decades. After that, BJP also got the chance of ruling the country. But due to its wrong policies, Congress lost power. And now, people should see through Congress and BJP manifestos filled with temptations. Congress is bringing "Ab hoga NYAY" scheme under which they are promising Rs 6,000 rupees per month to the poor people but it seems unimplementable so far. But BJP is saying that they will provide employment to the poor rather than money so that they can become independent.

On this occasion, SP president Akhilesh Yadav said the public had become aware of Modi's tactics to mislead the people by using the terms 'chaiwala' and 'chowkidar' while saying they will suffer a huge defeat in these elections.

Akhilesh also said the BJP governments had exploited the society's poor, farmers and the minorities. Through 'notebandi' (demonetisation), they were made to stand in long queues. The people will now remove them from power through 'votebandi.'
