Bachchan receives Padma Vibhushan

New Delhi, Apr 8 (IBNS ) Actor Amitabh Bachchan received his Padma Vibhushan award from President Pranab Mukherjee at a ceremony in New Delhi on Wednesday.

His son Abhishek, daughter Shweta and daughter-in-law attended the programme.

Noted Assamese film director Jahnu Barua was also awarded the Padma Bhushan along with  Bachchan.

Another bollywood icon Dilip Kumar could not received his Padma Vibhushan in person because of his indisposition.

Bachchan, who dominated bollywood through decades received the Padma Shri in 1984 and Padma Bhushan in 2001.

The blockbusters featuring Bachchan as the central figure includes Sholay, Deewar, Don, Amar Akbar Anthony, Black and Paa over a period of more than 40 years. He stars in the upcoming films Piku and Wazir.
