Baramulla: HM commander arrested, arms-ammunition recovered

Baramulla/UNI: Police on Saturday arrested a Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) commander and recovered arms and ammunition in this north Kashmir district.

Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh on Saturday said that on a tip off, security forces during a naka checking arrested a HM militant Junaid Pandit, a resident of Tappar Pattan, Baramulla.

“Arms and ammunition, including a pistol and 20 rounds, were recovered from the militant,” Mr Singh told reporters during a press conference.

The DGP said that the militant was tasked to carry out selective killings. “He was tasked to carry out attacks on security forces establishments and civilians. The militant also used to post threatening posters in the area,” he added.
