Barring Srinagar, minimum temp drops in Kashmir

Srinagar/UNI: Barring Srinagar, the minimum temperature drops in Kashmir valley on Thursday amid a meteorological forecast of very light rain, snow over the isolated places of J&K .

Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, settled at 0.4 degree Celsius for the second consecutive day on Thursday, MeT office said, adding it was 1.1 degree Celsius above normal during this period of the season.

Qazigund on Srinagar-Jammu national had a low of minus 2.0 degree Celsius against 0.2 degree Celsius recorded the previous night. It was 0.1 degree Celsius above normal during this period of the year.

Tourist hot spot of Pahalgam in south Kashmir recorded a low of minus 2.9 degree Celsius against minus 8.9 degree Celsius the previous night. It was 3.2 degrees above normal during this period of the season for the valley of shepherds.

The frontier Kashmir district of Kupwara had a low of minus 2.3 degree Celsius against minus 1.4 degree Celsius while Kokernag in south Kashmir was recorded at minus 1.9 degree Celsius against minus 0.5 degree Celsius the previous day.

Gulmarg in north Kashmir recorded a low of minus 7.6 degree Celsius against minus 8.2 degree Celsius the previous night. It was normal for the famous ski resort during this period of the season, the MeT office said.
