Be careful: EC advices Yogi Adityanath on "Modiji ki sena” remark

New Delhi, Apr 6 (IBNS): Days after Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had triggered a controversy by calling the Indian Army as “Modiji ki sena” while addressing a poll rally, the Election Commission has advised the BJP strongman to be  'careful' in future.

Yogi had made the remark while addressing a rally in Ghaziabad recently.

During his campaign for the upcoming General Election, which will begin on Apr 11, Adityanath on Sunday said while Congress used to feed terrorists with biryani (a food item), the Army of Prime Minister Narendra Modi gives bullets to the terrorists.

What was impossible for Congress is possible for Modi, the Chief Minister had said.

Pulwama attack and IAF's response:

Pakistan-based militant organisation, Jaish-e-Mohammed, had carried out a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama on Feb 14. The attack had left over 40 Indian paramilitary personnel martyred.

As a response, the Indian Air Force (IAF) carried out an airstrike across the Line of Control in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

Other BJP leaders who triggered row over airstrike:

Former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa had said the airstrike will help BJP to win 22 out of 28 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha election in the southern state.

BJP national president Amit Shah had claimed over 250 terrorists were killed in the airstrike while the IAF couldn't tell the actual figure.
