Bihar : All cops removed from a Patna police station on complains of helping liquor traders

Patna, Feb 3 (TheBiharPost/IBNS): In a major crackdown the state police administration on Friday removed all cops from the Beur police station in Patna district after they were accused of shielding illegal liquor traders.

The action was taken shortly after the police administration received complaints against the cops posted there.

“We have removed all the cops from the police station in view of the complaints and an investigation has been ordered. Further action will be taken once we get the probe report,” Patna’s deputy inspector general of police Shalin told the media on Friday.

He said they were committed to strict implementation of  the government’s prohibition order.

The Nitish Kumar Government enforced total ban on alcohol in April last year. Last month, the state formed the world’s longest human chain in support of prohibition.

The state Government claimed that  more than four crore (40 million) people had participated in the human chain programme.
