Patna/UNI: The lockdown imposed in Bihar to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection was on Monday further extended till Jun 8 in the state.

In view of the declining trend in the detection of the positive cases following the lock down imposed on May 5 during the second wave of the pandemic, the government decided to further extend it by a week.

The decision for extension of the lockdown was taken in a meeting of the crisis management group held on Monday under the chairmanship of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

Soon after the meeting, the Chief Minister informed about the decision through his official tweet on social media.

In his tweet, Kumar said that some more relaxations have been given to the commercial activities.

He appealed to the people to use facemask, maintain social distance and strictly follow the guidelines issued in connection with COVID-19.
