Bihar: Police officer among six cops suspended

Sasaram, Jul 1 (UNI) Six police personnel, including acting officer-in-charge of Vikramganj police station, were suspended in Rohtas district today after they were found guilty of dereliction of duty.

Police said here that the acting officer-in-charge of Vikramganj police station Tanik Kumar, four Home Guards and a policeman were suspended after a video showing them extorting money from sand laden trucks had gone viral.

The deputy police superintendent of Vikramganj on the direction of Rohtas police superintendent Shailesh Kumar Sinha had investigated the matter.

Sources said when the authenticity of video was proved in the inquiry, the six policemen were suspended.
